Here are some ideas that should be adored by whoever the gift receiver is.
I had a teacher friend ask for gift ideas for her (classroom) “room-parent” volunteer. Keeping price options in mind and a little creative captioning, after looking at this list I was like- these would be great from teacher to parent or parent to teacher!
So take a gift that can be practical, appreciated, or simple and sweet AND add a fun or thoughtful sentiment. You can truly capture depth of your appreciation!
Hopefully some of the captions will get your creative heartstrings flowing…

I hope that you get to feel the warmth of sunshine on your face and be reminded of the warmth you brought to this class. You really have been a ray of light.
You light up our classroom and our hearts! You are a shining light that will never go out.
Teachers can get tied up with all there is to do. But with parents like you, we can pony up and take on anything!
When people care this much about us, we drive to be the best we can be. Thank you for being such a powerful force in our lives.
There are people who come into our lives and do so much for us. We want you to know we love you a latte and are so grateful for filling our classroom to the rim with so much care.
We can’t high five you enough for all that you do. So believe us when we say- Hands down, you are the best ever!
We sea all that you do and know how much you care. We hope when you wear this bracelet you will sea how much we appreciate you.
We will always remember this unforgettable year. So take some time with all that is going on to- smile and laugh, as often as possible. We can’t rewind, but we are moving on stronger and better because of you.
This year has been an unforgettable year for sure!
I hope this helps and would love for you to share your ideas.
So down below is a template idea for teachers if they wish to do a letter to go along with that special gift- a shared writing project with the class (gift from teacher to classroom parent volunteers). You might want to stop reading so you don’t get bored.
Sample of class writing teacher can do with class
Teacher writing begins.
Dear Ms. Violet,
We wanted to show you how much we appreciate you, but how could we ever put into words the enormity of what you do for us. So this is us, together, telling you how you make us feel. For the following sentences, ask for responses from the students. Examples like- Ms. Violet, I am thankful for all that you do for our class. Love, Mark I think you are kind and I feel lucky to have you to help us. Sincerely, Lisa I know how much you care about us and it feels good. Your friend, Tony
- Continue on until all students have contributed one sentence.
- Who does the writing? Well, what do you have time for? You can solicit answers one at a time with a class or have it at a station and let students go one at a time to complete their sentence.
- A great idea to wrap the letter up is by bringing it back to the gift (like what we did with the creative captions up above).
And don’t fret. Just thank them. Let them know you care and how much it means. We all just want to be acknowledged and know that we matter. And you are amazing for taking the time!
